The Criminal Justice Research Center has for many years offered an annual seed funding program intended to assist Penn State faculty (including Commonwealth Campuses) to pursue external funding by (1) buying out an investigator’s time, (2) supporting project-specific research meetings or workshops, (3) providing research personnel support (CJRC, Graduate, and Undergraduate wages and salaries), (4) collecting pilot data, and (5) other research-related activities in the areas of criminal justice and criminology. We strongly encourage interdisciplinary research and collaboration between units within Penn State.
The CJRC seed funding program offers up to $8,500 in support. Larger awards (up to $20,000) are possible pending availability of funds; please see the solicitation for more information on that.
We encourage you to apply to this seed grant offering, which is open to faculty across the university. Please contact the CJRC Managing Director Gary Zajac at gxz3@psu.edu with any questions.
We look forward to reading your proposals.
