The Students’ Restorative Justice Initiative will be hosting a virtual Restorative Circles Training on April 23rd. sRJI’s goal in hosting this training is to build a coalition of practitioners at Penn State who will foster community and respond to conflict restoratively across the University. This training will allow students and faculty to develop the skills necessary to hold restorative circles and facilitate difficult conversations. Please note Restorative Circles will not take the place of disciplinary actions by the University but will be available as an additional method of conflict management alongside the University’s punitive policies. Participants will receive a certification upon completion.
The link for the training is here Requirements for Training: Trained facilitators will hold a minimum of 2 circles a month and also be available to host circles if a harm is committed around campus. Holding Restorative Circles is the first step in the process of building a transformative justice system on campus. If you would like to participate in Restorative Circle we will be hosting a theme 2 sessions on April 24th. Follow the link to RSVP.
Please note seats are limited and going fast.
