Luke Brinkman

Biography:

Luke Brinkman is a postdoctoral scholar at Penn State’s Criminal Justice Research Center in cooperation with the PADOC. He is an empirical microeconomist whose research focuses on the role of money in criminal justice and the identification of policy interventions that reduce incarceration rates without sacrificing public safety. He has studied prison commisary stores, parole, cash bail, and police officers’ stop and search decisions. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Washington University in St. Louis and his B.A. in economics and history from Covenant College.
