Biography:

Laura holds a Master’s degree in Experimental Psychology from Villanova University, and joined the Justice Center in September 2012. Ms. Winger’s thesis research focused on how people define their personal identity based on their memberships in important social groups. As a graduate assistant at Villanova, she contributed to several research studies, assisting with IRB applications, literature reviews, creating and testing online surveys, coding and analyzing data and presented results at the 2012 Conference of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology in San Diego, CA. She served an internship at GfK Custom Research, contributing to client report preparation through verification and the updating of data from national market research surveys. As an undergraduate majoring in Psychology at Muhlenberg College, she conducted an independent line of research for her honors thesis, studying the influence of sibling relationship quality as a predictor of college adjustment.

In August 2014, Laura accepted a position as an Assistant for Institutional Research & Analysis at SUNY Cortland. Working in the Institutional Research and Analysis office, Laura gathers, analyzes, and reports institutional data that helps inform strategic planning, evaluation of academic and administrative programs, and other improvement efforts at the institution. While working at the Justice Center, Laura completed Penn State’s graduate certificate program in institutional research.
